Annabel is a relaxed, friendly teacher and an expert guide to the art of shibori.
She creates unique textiles using shibori to make hangings, glowing textile light fittings and other interior accessories.

Course description
The process of dyeing with indigo is magical. Learn to stitch and manipulate fabric to resist the dye (called shibori) creating beautiful patterns on fabric.
You can take fabrics home that you have stitched, tied, pleated and dyed with the option of creating a larger piece for a bag or cushion cover. Or if you are a quilter or card maker you will want to make many smaller pieces to add that something special to your quilts or cards.
Practice the many shibori techniques that you will have read about in books. It is so much easier to learn by doing it under the expert guidance of Annabel who uses shibori to create her beautiful hangings of plant and landscape images. An enjoyment of sewing is helpful. The day is suitable for all levels of ability.

Day outcome
Create your own unique textiles using stitch resist dyeing techniques. In the day you will create small pieces plus enough fabric for a cushion cover, bag or
hanging.
