Starting soon - Contemporary textile techniques - A Passion for Textiles

A great course with Leah Watts of the famous Textile Tarts!

Starts Thursday 24th April 7.00 -

Using a selection of cottons and natural fibre fabric and paper we will take inspiration from all around us to colour and make marks (what does this mean?). There will be no right and wrong and you will be free to bind, stitch, wrap and wash with colour to your heart’s content.

Over the six weeks you will learn to print on, use resist techniques with fabric and paper, practice various ways of transferring images and using stitch, layer and work your fabrics into a collaged art quilt. No experience needed.
Please bring any fabrics such as cotton fibre, silks, linen and viscose, rayon and any threads you may like to dye. If, however, you want to buy a small selection of fabrics on the first week you can do this. There will be lots of paper to practice on and make into a reference sketchbook should you wish.
